Kramer
Owned and played by Edward Van Halen circa 1983-1984
from Music Zoo owner, Tommy Colletti:
"This guitar was built by Dennis Berrardi of Kramer, used by Eddie, and Ed gave it to [tennis star] Vitas Gerulaitis at the Meadowlands arena in New Jersey circa 1983-1984. Vitas was a close friend of Eddie’s and the rest of Van Halen and jammed with Ed from time to time; they actually traded tennis lessons for guitar lessons. Tragically, Vitas died in 1994 of carbon monoxide poisoning at a friend's house in the Hamptons. Some of his estate has eventually been sold, and this guitar was part of a collection that included guitars given to Vitas from artists such as Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen, and of course, Eddie. Vitas was not only a great guitarist but also a classically trained pianist."
