acousticaster koa

NAMM 2013 Here’s a guitar that’s loaded up with some behind the scenes features that really allow it to sound like nothing else; The Godin Acousticaster. And not just any Acousticaster, this is the limited edition 40th Anniversary model with a figured koa leaftop on a cedar top with a semi-acoustic mahogany body.

What gives this guitar its sound is a mechanical harp made of eighteen metal tines underneath the bridge which assist in giving the guitar a very chimey and chorus-like tone. Add that in to the custom Godin GJN1 mini-humbucker and top-mounted preamp, and this is one cool sounding guitar.

The Zoo was actually familiar with this guitar before the NAMM show, as the day before we left – we received this in the mail – but of course we were happy to see it again at the show.
