Godin Encore and Ambiance Steel-String INUKs

NAMM 2013 We had a good running joke at the Zoo with the Godin Oud: “Dude, is that an oud?” Now with the new steel string INUK’s (pronounced ee-nook) that we’ve seen at the NAMM 2013 show, we’re going to need some fresh material.  Godin had heard that guitar players were interested in their MultiOud, but a little intimidated by their fretless neck.  Now, they’ve come up with the INUK, essentially a fretted Oud, this new version strung with steel strings as opposed to nylon.  We can’t wait to get our hands on these instruments when they make their way to the Music Zoo.

The INUK pictured on the left is the Encore model, with a semi-gloss Antique Burst finish, two-chambered Canadian Laurentian Basswood body, solid Cedar top, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard and bridge, 23.03″ scale length, 1.6″ nut width, and a Godin EPM Quantum IT with on-board tuner and under saddle transducer.

The INUK pictured on the right is the Ambiance model, with a high-gloss Sunburst finish, two-chambered Mahogany body, solid Spruce top, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and bridge, 23.03″ scale length, 1.6″ nut width, and custom voiced electronics, with blendable sound imaging mic, 4 individual mic settings, dual source pre-amp with feedback control, and under saddle transducer.
