Gibson owners who desire the capabilities of a Floyd Rose tremolo know that it can take quite a bit of effort to try and retro fit the bulky tailpieceFRTX01000 on a Les Paul. A lot of cutting is involved, and not everyone is a fan of getting rid some precious flamed maple for the sake of doing a divebomb. Well, thankfully, after years of development, Floyd Rose is announcing the FRX. The FRX will be the first direct-swap tremolo system for the Tune-o-matic bridges found in Gibson Les Pauls without having to put your beloved Gibson under the knife. The system consists of a main bridge mechanism with intonation saddles and tremolo arm and a combined locking nut and truss adjustment cover that mounts behind the existing nut.

The FRX system consists of a main bridge mechanism with intonation saddles and tremolo arm and a combined locking nut and truss adjustment cover that mounts behind the existing nut. It can be set to locked, assisted floating or full floating operation via a thumb-operated stop screw at the top and spring tension adjustment at the back of the bridge unit. Other adjustments, such as fine-tuning and intonation, are made on the top of the bridge, and a new tension-adjustable tremolo arm simply pushes in and pulls out. Available in a variety of nut sizes, the tremolo kit contains the bridge, locking nut, and all hardware necessary for installation. Best of all, the kit will be available in 10 different finishes. Have a look at the video below to view how easy it is to install.
