 616ce Limited Edition616ce-front-taylor-guitars-2015-full

Taylor’s Grand Symphony shape yields a beefy acoustic sound with extra low-end horsepower. Coupled with the package of tone-enhancing strokes brought to the maple/spruce 600 Series, players can expect impressive richness, volume and sustain. Design nuances include a back bracing profile that’s optimized for maple and a special seasoning process for the spruce top called torrefaction to produce an aged tonal character with greater acoustic resonance and responsiveness. Protein glues and an ultra-thin gloss finish minimize tonal dampening. A hand-rubbed “Brown Sugar” stain on the back and sides gives maple’s striking figure a beautiful violin-hued appearance without adding extra thickness to the finish. Featured appointments include grained ivoroid Wings fretboard inlays, an inlaid ebony backstrap, ebony binding with ivoroid purfling, an ebony/ivoroid rosette, and a striped ebony pickguard, along with Taylor’s Expression System® 2 acoustic electronics. The guitar features a Venetian cutaway and comes with a deluxe hardshell case.

Rare flamed mahogany adds a striking visual shimmer to the back and sides of this limited edition Taylor Grand Auditorium. The Sitka spruce top boasts Adirondack spruce CV bracing, which boosts the guitar’s volume and overall fullness without sacrificing clarity. Together with mahogany’s clear, warm and fundamentally strong sonic character, players can expect a dynamic tone profile that responds well to nearly any playing style. Premium aesthetic strokes include a sharp Florentine cutaway and a fresh appointment package featuring a rosewood/mother-of-pearl Capstone fretboard inlay, rosewood/mother-of-pearl rosette, rosewood binding with curly maple top edge trim, a rosewood back strip, Gotoh Gold tuners, along with an all-gloss body and Taylor’s Expression System® 2 electronics. The guitar features a limited edition label and ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.

314ce Cedar/Rosewood LTD

314ce-RW-LTD-front-taylor-guitars-2015-full

As the saying goes, sometimes less is more. A rosewood/cedar guitar rewards players who employ a lighter attack, from fingerstylists to light strummers, with a warm and richly musical voice. Compared to a spruce-top guitar, a cedar top reveals itself with a mature, played-in sound right away, and fans of rich overtones will enjoy playing this Grand Auditorium limited edition. Cedar’s midrange bloom provides a wonderful complement to rosewood’s scooped midrange and treble sparkle.

“Cedar lends a strong, woody overtone component to the mix,” says Taylor master builder Andy Powers. “Its complex overtone profile is more immediate than spruce. When combined with the bell-like upper overtone character of rosewood, together they impart a really thick flavor to each note, even when played lightly.”

The Grand Auditorium’s responsiveness to both fingerpicking and light to medium strumming makes it a great match for the tone profile of the woods. Players with a relaxed attack can expect an expressive and easily accessible voice. Clean appointments borrow from Taylor’s standard 300 Series (2015): black pickguard and binding, Italian acrylic dot inlays, 3-ring rosette, white top purfling, satin-finish back and sides with a gloss top, and Expression System®2 electronics.
