Hofner Guitars

Since the 1800s, Hofner has been building fine stringed instruments in Germany. In 1955, Hofner unveiled a new semi-hollow acoustic bass called the 500/1, and took the world by storm 6 years later when Paul McCartney bought his first Hofner bass in a music shop in Hamburg. Today, Hofner has a state of the art facility near the village of Hagnau. In addition to basses, Hofner makes lovely guitars, and The Music Zoo is proud to be a leading North American dealer.

Hofner Chancellor Archtop Electric Guitar Violin Finish
When you manage to stay in business for over 100 years, you know you're doing something right. One strum on a high-end Hofner archtop guitar will instantly give you a feeling of the history behind the company. This is a Hofner Chancellor with a violin shellac, giving the hand carved spruce and flamed maple wood a beautiful light brown finish. The back of the body is book-matched almost perfectly, linking up the well-defined flames with each other. It is topped off with gold hardware, as well as pieces of ebony for its tuner buttons, bridge base, tailpiece, and pickguard. How much more class could you ask for in an archtop?
