With its centerfold-esque high quality pictures of original Bursts, as well as a wealth of knowledge of the woods and electronics, we've always wished to get our hands on at least one of the instruments Yasuhiko Iwanade documented. Now, we've come as close as we've ever had before with this Custom Shop '59 Les Paul Reissue that has a sunbust finish that is a replica of the instrument pictured on page 59 of Beauty of the Burst . Underneath the unique burst is a killer looking flame maple top, and of course the instrument is loaded with Burstbucker pickups that pump out that classic Les Paul PAF tone.

This '59 reissue has a great finish that we don't get to see a lot of: Bourbon Burst. This '59 has a beautiful deep red color on the edges of the top that tie in nicely into the cherry back and sides, and the top on this one looks especially nice with vertical streaks of grain underneath the thin flame figuring, making this Les Paul truly one of a kind.

This '59 reissue has a great finish that we don't get to see a lot of: brockburst. Similar to bourbonburst, brockburst has a beautiful deep red color on the edges of the top that tie in nicely into the cherry back and sides. We think the top on this one looks especially cool, as the figuring seems to "fade" itself in towards the middle of the top, becoming more and more defined towards the center. Just another reason to stop for a minute and admire the natural beauty of a flame maple top.

This is one good looking Les Paul. A '59 reissue with a Stanley burst finish on a beautiful piece of flamed hard rock maple. Hard rock maple is... what it sounds like; a harder and denser wood then Western maple. The color in the wood is also lighter than Western maple, with more grain to be seen underneath the figuring. The top on this '59 reissue has some very cool medium-sized figuring to it that sort of "billows" out across the book-matched maple.
