Hired by Leo Fender in 1948, George Fullerton was one of the people who assisted Leo in designing some of the companies timeless instruments, in this case the Stratocaster. This 2011 Limited Edition instrument is a replication of the vision Fullerton had for the prototype Strat. With its interesting "space-age" pickguard made of black bakelite with a chrome control plate and knurled dome knobs this Strat really looks like one of a kind. Fender had updated the guitar to feature a 9.5" fretboard radius and narrow jumbo frets for enhanced modern day playability. The guitar is loaded it with Abby Ybarra handwound Stratocaster pickups, which is appropriate considering she's been perfecting her craft since she started at Fender in 1956.
