In 1977, The Eagles released what would be one of the best-selling albums of all time, “Hotel California.” Guitarist Don Felder wrote the original concept and demo for the hit song of the same name and the rest has become rock and roll history. It has been credited by many as one of the world’s greatest guitar solos, appeared on numerous "greatest songs of all time” lists, and has been certified platinum as a single by the RIAA (16x platinum as an album). Don Felder and Joe Walsh’s dual guitar solo on “Hotel California” tapped a searing tone and an atmospheric vibe that still resonate today. In the recording studio, Don Felder used his ’59 Les Paul to play his leads on the "Hotel California" album, including his imaginative and thrilling work on the Hotel California track.

To honor this legendary pairing of artist and instrument, Gibson Custom introduces the Don Felder “Hotel California” 1959 Les Paul. The instrument is crafted in the image of Gibson’s iconic 1959 Les Paul Standard with a few twists unique to Don’s model, including a smaller-than-usual neck profile for the era. The Don Felder profile is a very comfortable medium-thin shape with a very slight v, which rounds out as you reach the higher frets.

This version is aged to accurately reflect the look of Felder’s original ’59 Les Paul, and is signed and numbered by Don on the back of the headstock. It is set to a strict limited production of 50 aged & signed guitars for worldwide sale. Along with the instrument comes a great set of extras including a leather / engraved certificate of authenticity and “Hotel California” sheet music signed by Don.
