Here is a great example of the amazing aging work from the highly skilled Tom Murphy, a pre-owned 2007 Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Aged 1957 Les Paul Custom. This instrument features all the standard specs of a '57 Les Paul Custom reissue; mahogany body and neck, ebony fretboard, rounded '50s neck profile, pearl block inlays, seven-ply body binding, Tune-o-matic bridge, and burstbucker pickups. There is great attention to details in the aging of this instrument, not only to the finish but the gold hardware as well. Looks wise it speaks for itself, tonally the aging process has really opened up the guitar, making it very loud and resonant, another great characteristic of Murphy Aged guitars. This one doesn't appear to have much play time on it, the only wear to be seen is the work which was purposely put there by Tom.
