The builders at the Custom Shop have done a fantastic job with this instrument. It features a very comfortable thin neck that makes chording and single-note runs effortless to play. This 335 has some cool pieces of plain maple with unique "wavey" grain in the wood, especially on the back. We think it makes the guitar look like a real one of a kind.

Gibson has always been a guitar maker steeped in tradition. After revolutionizing the guitar world with the solidbody Les Paul model in the 1950s, Gibson made a bold return to its roots by offering an electric guitar that encompassed the benefits of a solidbody guitar, but in the image of an acoustic archtop. The result was the ES-335.

Chuck Berry, B.B. King, and other formative players in the evolving early days of rock and electric blues had already immortalized the Gibson ES-335 when the company’s engineers fine-tuned the guitar in 1963. Today’s Custom Shop ES-335 Block Inlay Reissue model reflects those original refinements, which enhance the guitar’s playability and beauty.
