Here's a pre-owned Custom Shop Robby Krieger '54 Les Paul - these guitars were a very limited run done in 2014 with the legendary Doors guitarist. This is a VOS model, and is number 34 out of only 150 guitars - in excellent condition.

If you thought Robby Krieger only played late '60s SG Standards during his time with the Doors, guess again. Krieger did much of his recording and songwriting with a 1954 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty that he acquired in 1968. Actually, he used that guitar to write the classic doors hit, L.A. Woman.

Over the decades, Robby has left the guitar as stock except for replacing the original Alnico 5 single-coil pickup with a Seymour Duncan mini humbucker. That mod makes excellent sense considering how Krieger's relied on the front pickup for that warm, throaty signature tone of his.
