Used 2001 Time Machine 1963 Telecaster Relic Electric Guitar Lake Placid Blue Item Description
This is a pre-owned 1963 Relic Telecaster in a classic lake Placid Blue relic finish, built by the Fender Custom Shop in 2001. The finish has been tastefully aged for a played-in look and feel. The neck gets the relic treatment as well, with a comfortable oval "C" shape coupled with a vintage accurate 7.25" radius and smaller vintage-size frets. All of the traditional Tele sounds are here as well, with two Custom Shop Tele single-coils wired to a three-way switch for full-bodied neck pickup sounds, shimmering "middle" position tones, and biting treble leads. The control plate on this tele has been reversed, with the pickup switch now on the bottom side towards the jack, with the volume still in the first position and the tone in the second - the cavity for the electronics has been re-routed and widened to accommodate the new configuration. This instrument is in overall excellent condition with all wear original to how the Custom Shop intended the guitar to look and feel.
