NAMM 2013 We had a ton of requests before heading out to NAMM this year to hunt down the new Marshall SL-5 Slash combo amp.  We’d already been on a low-watt tube combo kick ever since Marshall broke out the 1-watt Annversary series, so of course we had to machete (get it, Slash…) our way through the musical jungle to find the Marshall booth, which wasn’t hard considering there were Marshall stacks 30 feet high.  Not only did we get to see the new SL-5, but we had Nick Bowcott – a man of many jokes and riffs – to give us a fantastic run down of all the features and tones of the Slash SL-5.

Contact our sales team to see how you can get your hands on one of these little troublemakers.

Trying to decide between one of these, and one of the new EVH Combos! Both would make a killer recording amp, and they have similar features, but it will come down to better tone overall. I know the EVH amps aren’t known to have very interesting clean tone, but great gain tone. These under are half the price of the EVH, which is nice if the tone is as good or better than the EVH? I know the EVH is 50/1 watt and this is 5/1 watt, but as a low watt recording amp only, not for gigs, is what I am comparing them for. Wouldn’t mind owning both eventually!
