Randy Rhoads

Randy Rhoads

The late Randy Rhoads would have turned 53 today.  Randy is one of The Music Zoo’s favorite guitarists; he pioneered a fast, virtuosic soloing style, informed by classical music, and adopted by nearly everyone who came after him in heavy metal.  He recorded just two major studio albums with Ozzy Osbourne – Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, but it was enough firmly cement him in rock and roll history.  He was truly one of the greats, and was taken too soon.  Before Ozzy, Randy was a member of Quiet Riot.  Enjoy this extended solo from a late ’70s Quiet Riot performance, and Happy Birthday Randy.
