Introduced in 1951, the Telecaster changed the way guitars were made and ushered new sounds in music. In celebration of this landmark design’s 60th anniversary, Fender introduces the Empress Telecaster, part of their “Tele-Bration” series. This Tele gets its name from the wood it is constructed of. Empress is a lightweight wood used in the Far East for instruments such as the koto and zither. This results in a classic Telecaster tone, married with a comfortable and lightweight body that maintains a unique tone of its own. Equipped with dual Hot Tele single-coil pickups, it’s a guitar that maintains as much in character as it does in sound.
