As one of the most celebrated series in the Fender line since the "Post-CBS" days, the American Vintage line has always been known for its historical accuracy and tonal homage to the original Fender guitars of the 1950's and 1960s. Now, the American Vintage Series has been upped a notch to even more accuracy, with revoiced pickups, reformulated vintage colors, just about every detail you can think of has been examined by Fender to make the best guitar possible.
This is the new '58 Telecaster, with a "D" shaped maple neck, twangy single-coil Tele pickups with staggered bridge pole pieces, and a great looking 1-ply white pickguard. Fender tracked down a handful of original '58s and meatured every body curve, rolled edge, and pickup to put the best features of each rolled into one: this new model. The new '58 Tele features an Aged White Blonde finish and a "D" shaped neck that is slimmer than the "U" shape found on earlier years of Telecasters. Topping off the vintage accuracy are the solid steel "barrel" bridge saddles, "top hat" switch tip, and flat top knurled aluminum chrome knobs.
