Gibson Custom Shop '57 Les Paul VOS Darkback Electric Guitar Antique Gold
You can't get much more of an iconic guitar than a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop. This was the first year the world was introduced humbucking pickups, two in this case in a solid piece of mahogany with a maple top...and the rest is history. This particular '57 has a unique dark-stained mahogany body. Other standard features are Custombucker pickups, period-correct CTS pots and bumblebee capacitor, the mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. It's all there for the taking.

Gibson Custom Shop '59 ES-335 Reissue Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst
Gibson has always been a guitar maker steeped in tradition. So, after revolutionizing the guitar world with the solidbody Les Paul model in the 1950s, Gibson made a bold return to its roots by offering an electric guitar that encompassed the benefits of a solidbody guitar, but in the image of an acoustic archtop. The result was the ES-335.

First released in 1958, the ES-335 would eventually reach its most desirable form one year later in 1959. Now, 50 years after reaching this zenith in semi-acoustic guitar design, Gibson Custom is proud to reintroduce one of the most celebrated guitars in its history, the 1959 ES-335 Dot Reissue. This model from Gibson Custom captures this desirable classic in greater detail than any “reissue”-style guitar previously produced.

The Custom Shop did a fantastic job with this instrument. The top of the body features a nice even burst and the Madagascar rosewood board is a great color as well. The back looks equally cool with a mahogany neck that starts to burst at the heel. The '57 Classics are incredibly versatile, and the rounded neck profile is very comfortable.

Taylor 618e Grand Orchestra Acoustic/Electric Guitar
We at the Music Zoo love big-bodied acoustic guitars. A good jumbo-sized acoustic gives you a bit more hummin' for the strummin', if you will. The extra air inside of a big body acoustic gives your playing a lot more space to move around, and they react very dynamically to your playing style.

It's with this enthusiasm that we welcome the brand-new Taylor Grand Orchestra, especially this 618e, built with a Sitka Spruce top with premium Big Leaf Maple back and sides, and topped off with 600 series appointments. The Big Leaf Maple body gives this Grand Orchestra lots of sparkling high end and punch, last but not least - let's not forget how good that 3-piece maple back looks on this guitar.

Taylor BTO T5 Sinker Redwood Hybrid Acoustic/Electric Guitar Shaded Edge Burst
We are loving the sound coming off the new Taylors being produced with this ancient Redwood so much, we just had to get a Sinker Redwood T5 specially made for us! Sinker Redwood is a special wood, sliced from huge old-growth redwood logs reclaimed from the depths of Northern California rivers, where they’ve lain in many cases for more than a century. The age of this wood translates into a very tight grain structure that produces a bold, yet warm response. In fact, the folks at Taylor refer to it as "cedar on steroids."

These properties translate perfectly on a T5 "electric/acoustic," with a beautiful piece of Sinker Redwood that sits atop a fully hollow Sapele body. The result is a guitar that can cover almost unheard of sonic territory, all the while maintaining a unique character that is quite distinct from spruce or cedar. A Shaded Edge Burst gloss finish of course enhances the beautiful aesthetics.

Duesenberg Rezobro Electric Guitar Two-Tone Sunburst
The Deusenberg Rezobro is a brilliant combination of a great, no-nonsense electric guitar and an honest-to-goodness electrified resonator. This is accomplished thanks to a steel "leaf" between the bridge and tailpiece which, when vibrating, produces that distinctive, swampy resonator sound. With the help of a Piezo transducer pickup (which has its own volume control), the reso sound can be combined with that of an ordinary electric guitar. And because the Rezobro is a solidbody, you won't have to worry about feedback.

Used 1969 Gibson Les Paul Model Electric Guitar Goldtop
Those late ‘60s Les Pauls are among the finest produced by Gibson, and here we have a pre-owned 1969 Les Paul Model Goldtop in excellentn condition. It features a one-piece mahogany neck, one piece mahogany body, and a two-piece center-seam maple top. No "Made in the USA" stamp and no neck volute. This is an early ’69 transitional guitar with the larger headstock, blank pre-Deluxe truss rod cover, long neck tenon, original P90 pickups and pot codes that date to the 50th week of 1968. The tuners, knobs and nylon saddle bridge are all original. The hardshell case appears non-original as it is a maroon lining early ‘70s case.

The pickup routes show some paint/wood scraped away to accommodate the wiring and screws on the bottom of the pickups, which appear original. As you may recall with later Deluxe models, Gibson installed a metal bar under the mini-humbucker so the humbucker had something to screw into. With this guitar, a small piece of mahogany was tacked into place to raise the pickup and give the screw something to bite into. This may have been done after-market. The bridge pickup mahogany riser has since been removed and a piece of foam now acts as the shim. Otherwise, the solder connections, electronics, and parts all appear original, correct, and untouched. The guitar has light checking as well has a handful of small dings over the surface. It’s in great condition for its age. Case is missing a latch. Overall, this one plays excellent and sounds wonderful.

Martin Custom Shop 00-28K Koa Acoustic Guitar
Truly a work of art, this 00-28K from Martin's custom shop is an absolute joy to play; clear, responsive, robust and present when you need to be heard, and a big midrange and top-end sound that translates all of the nuances of your fingerpicking. The low end is present as well, but this isn't a "boomy" kind of guitar--not with the 00 body shape. For this custom guitar, the Zoo wanted to capture some of the elements of a 1920s Martin. Hence we asked for a Brazilian rosewood headstock plate, a slotted headstock with vintage-like square slots, and a late '20s "pyramid" bridge. Ultimately, it's the kind of guitar that sounds so great you won't want to put it down. And when you actually open your eyes to look at the instrument, you'll see that it's downright gorgeous, with highly flamed koa all around, amazing herringbone and fiber rosette and purfling, and a beautiful ebony fretboard, slotted headstock, and small Ditson-style pickguard that capture the tradition and legacy of the small-bodied, parlor-sized Martin guitar.
