Seagull S6 Music Zoo Exclusive Koa Dreadnought Acoustic/Electric Guitar
Seagull Guitars are manufactured in Canada and use premium, locally sourced woods that are tested for tonality and their ability to vibrate well. Such attention to detail is evident with the S6 Koa Dreadnought guitar, which is made with a solid cedar top and laminated Koa back and sides. The use of Hawaiian Koa, an exclusive only for The Music Zoo, marks an exception for Seagull's normal sourcing of local woods. Tonally it makes for some accentuated midrange and brightness that mellows as the guitar is played. You'll nonetheless notice plenty of clarity and low end that is atypical for a guitar at this price point. Like all Seagull's, it plays superbly and is built with top-notch Canadian workmanship. The guitar also features the Seagull QI pickup system. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player looking to keep a second, more affordable guitar around, you won't go wrong here.

Used Gibson Custom Shop '59 Les Paul Heavy Aged Kentucky Bourbon Fade
This beautiful pre-owned Gibson Custom Shop '59 Les Paul is made with a lightweight mahogany body, figured maple cap, and mahogany neck. The neck has a custom profile that we feel is the closest to most ’59 necks ever made. A 1-piece rosewood fretboard has a 1.678” nut width and 24 7/8” scale length. The guitar maintains pure historical accuracy with period-correct cream binding, nickel Kluson Deluxe Tuners, a vintage truss rod cover, gold top hats, and a red aniline dye on the body that is just like the original. All the electronics are reissued to give you a historically accurate signal path, and two Custombuckers are 10% underwound to give you that natural, chimey sound that original ‘59’s are famous for. All this has been heavily aged in-house at the Gibson Custom Shop and they did a masterful job. This guitar is used but in excellent condition and comes with its original hardshell case, hang tags, and certificate of authenticity.

Charvel Custom Shop San Dimas Mahogany Natural Electric Guitar
Tone, Feel, and Performance. What else do you need from your axe? The Charvel® Natural Series San Dimas guitars created by The Music Zoo deliver all three in spades. This exclusive line of USA-Made Custom Shop Charvel® San Dimas guitars is designed to deliver huge bang for the buck, starting at just $1,695.00. Read on for the whole story behind the Music Zoo Naturals:

In 2006 The Music Zoo's owner and vintage Charvel aficianado Tommy Colletti got on a plane to California and sat down with The Charvel Custom Shop to talk about a guitar he wanted to build. The idea was simple. No paint but instead a hand-rubbed, oil-finished body. One pickup, one knob. No frills, all business, and a world-class level of quality that The Music Zoo's customers would demand. Charvel had recently joined forces with Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, and the build quality of the new Charvel product was stellar. Plus, we were all excited that Charvel guitars were once again being produced with the famous Stratocaster headstock, just like the Charvels from the late '70s/early 80s. The new Charvel necks, with an 1 11/16" nut width, and the skunk stripe on the back look and feel the part of their vintage predecessors. The time was right, and the San Dimas Natural Series from Charvel and The Music Zoo was born.

The bodies of the Natural Series guitars are what gives them monster tone. We spec'd high-quality Mahogany, Swamp Ash, or Koa; all three are fantastic tonewoods. Without thick layers of paint, the wood can breathe and resonate, resulting in a louder guitar acoustically, and a more responsive guitar plugged into your amp. The hand-rubbed oil finish is durable and brings out the beauty of the wood, and brings down the cost of the guitar to boot. The solid brass volume knob is another throwback to the original San Dimas.

The performance: Depending on your needs, the Charvel Natural Series San Dimas comes with either a vintage-style NOS brass tremolo or a rock-solid Floyd Rose with locking nut. The single pickup is a Seymour Duncan Custom 5, a versatile pickup that shows off the expanded frequencies of the oiled bodies while still providing enough gain to melt faces. After the initial run of Naturals was such a success, we expanded the original "one pickup/one knob" concept to dual humbucker configurations, often a Seymour Duncan Custom 5 at the bridge and a Jazz at the neck, and Hum/Single, often using a Cool Rails single coil at the neck. These configurations still keep it simple with a just single volume knob and a 3-way toggle switch.

Charvel®, San Dimas®, and the distinctive headstock design commonly found on Charvel® guitars are registered trademarks of FMIC under license to JCMI.

Gibson Custom Shop Le Grand Archtop Electric/Acoustic Guitar Bourbon Burst
In 1961, world-renowned jazz guitarist, Johnny Smith went to Gibson with a request to make an exquisite archtop guitar that would holds its own as an acoustic, but also had electric capabilities for live use. The result was the archetype of archtops; the pinnacle of jazz guitar design that changed how these guitars were made. Originally called The Johnny Smith Guitar, the name has been changed to LeGrand; a perfect name for the ultimate jazzbox in style, sound, and built quality. The LeGrand has always been a select model manufactured in limited numbers, and only 963 of the original Johnny Smith version (identical in all but name) were produced between 1962 and 1979. Every detail of this guitar is still built in Johnny Smith’s vision.

Starting with the body, the soundboard is carved from a solid piece of high-grade spruce, while the back and sides are carved from high-grade maple. The top is supported by the X-bracing that Smith requested specifically for its acoustic properties. A floating BJB pickup, which was borrowed from an Epiphone Seth Lover design, has zero contact with the body, allowing the ultimate purity in acoustic resonance. For the same reason the single volume control and input jack are attached to the floating pickguard. At Smith’s request, the body style is based on the venerable Gibson L-5, with a shallower 3” depth, while the neck and headstock are based on the Super 400.

Premium appointments add to the class and functionality of this instrument. A six finger tailpiece has individual fine-tuning adjustment screws for each string. Multi-ply binding on the top and back of the body, fingerboard, headstock and pickguard add refinement, as do the the abalone split-block fingerboard inlays; and the bound f-holes. All hardware is gold plated, including the ABR-1 bridge mounted atop an ebony base. This example is finished in a gorgeous Bourbon Burst shade. All this adds to THE peerless jazz instrument, a specimen of build perfection and artistry.

Australia's Cole Clark guitars are played by folks such as Johnny Marr, Elliot Easton, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and even Jerry Douglas (yes, Cole Clark makes a great lap-steel).

These fine acoustic guitars are constructed using Australian tonewoods and some atypical construction method, particularly the use of a “Spanish Heel” or integral neck construction, in which the neck and its neck block are one piece, and that piece extends to the guitar’s soundhole. This type of neck attachment is commonplace with classical guitars and creates additional resonance and superb tone.

The neck is Queensland maple with a rosewood fretboard and gorgeous blackwood snowflake inlays. With maple binding and inland timber purfling and rosette, this Angel 2 is a gorgeous instrument.
