Here we have a pre-owned Gibson Les Paul studio in an Alpine White matte finish. There are some minor pick scratches on the guard and a small amount of checking on the finish by the nut; otherwise this piece is in excellent condition. Features include a mahogany body, a tune-o-matic bridge with a stop-tail endpiece, and 490R/498T humbucker pickups. We like the contrast of the black hardware on white finish, and speed knobs are a nice addition.

The Gibson ES-335 is one of the most well-recognized guitars of all time, both in its iconic “double-horn” design, and mellow, round tones it conjures. Popular amongst jazz and blues players for its smooth sound, the ES-335 is fortuitous and versatile comparable to its solid-bodied cousins. Featuring a thin-tapered 60s style neck and Dual ’57 Gibson humbuckers, this guitar is a great match for anyone who likes that semi-hollow tone with a bit of a vintage vibe.

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but that phrase must have been completely ignored when it comes to the brand new, redesigned Gibson Les Paul Standard 2013. The 2013 Les Paul Standard is still built of those essential Les Paul ingredients of a flamed maple top on a mahogany body, rosewood fretboard, and solid quartersawn mahogany neck, but loaded with lots of new features inside and out to make it a totally new animal.
The 2013 Les Paul features the Assymetrical '60s neck profile, along with a compound fretboard radius that accommodates your rhythm playing down low, and flattens out up top for fast solos and bending. Electronics wise, the guitar is loaded with two Burstbucker Pro humbuckers with coil-tapping via the volume knobs, phase-switching via the neck tone knob, and a new feature called the Pure Bypass setting on the push/pull bridge tone knob which puts the bridge pickup straight through the output and bypassing both volume and tone controls - an instant hot lead tone at the pull of a switch.

At first glance, the Les Paul Axcess looks like the usual Les Paul, albeit with a Floyd Rose tremolo installed, but upon holding it in your hands, you quickly realize that this is a totally new rock and roll monster. The Les Paul Axcess has a slimmer body than a usual Les Paul, with a newly contoured neck heel which makes it feel as if the body and neck are one single piece of wood. The "heel-less" feel makes quick runs up the neck and solos super comfortable, and the addition of a Floyd Rose on a Les Paul opens up a whole new world of divebombs and pinch squeals with classic Les Paul tone.

At the Music Zoo we like to think that "if it ain’t broke, don't fix it." However, we also like to say "if it works, let's make it even better." Owner Tommy Colletti had several meetings at the Jackson Custom Shop with Jackson mastermind Mike Shannon, the man responsible for some of the most famous Jackson guitars of all time (including Randy Rhoads' personal Jackson V's) and discussed how we could take the looks and playability of the classic SL2H even further. We looked at the most-requested player changes to custom orders of the SL2H and have now created the SL2H-V, V for "Vintage."
The brand-new Music Zoo-exclusive SL2H-V has moved the knobs and toggle switch 1" closer to the bridge, giving you way more space for your picking hand to move around without bumping into any controls. It also has a non-recessed Floyd Rose tremolo, giving the guitar both a vintage look as well as giving the body more mass for sustain without having a chunk of wood taken out of the body. The guitar is loaded with an EVH low-friction volume pot, brass control knobs and end pins, and a smaller-sized headstock with a vintage Jackson logo that is identical to the headstock found on the original Rhoads Concorde.
If you think these are small changes that wouldn't make a big difference, we dare you to pick up an SL2H-V for yourself and see how the Zoo has taken a classic Jackson guitar and one-upped it to the next level.

Here's a Taylor 716ce, a grand symphony sized acoustic guitar with a tone that's clear as a bell, and of course the exceptional build quality that we all know and love Taylor for. The guitar is built with an Engelmann Spruce top with Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, and a vintage sunburst finish that isn't only on the top, but the neck as well; a very nice touch. Ivoroid heritage diamond fretboard inlays and a 3-ring ivoroid rosette to complete the looks of this fantastic instrument, and we've chosen to forgo the pickguard to show off the marvelous finish.

New from Taylor, the 614-CE. This handsome acoustic guitar is built with gorgeous grade-A quilt maple on the back and sides and a Sitka spruce top in a Grand Auditorium body shape. This combination makes for a full-bodied sound that is full of boomy low end but provides plenty of definition and character. The twisted oval inlays on the fretboard are a classy touch and the Taylor Expression System makes this guitar easy to amplify either through a PA or acoustic guitar amp.

There's nothing like the lean and mean tone of a Les Paul Special, especially with the added vibe of the TV Yellow finish. This pre-owned Gibson Custom Shop '60 Reissue is in excellent condition, with the pick wear pretty much being confined to the guard and pickup covers. Features on this include a mahogany body, slim tapered neck, rosewood fretboard, 24-3/4" scale length, 1.68" nut width, two P-90 pickups with individual volume and tone controls, a wraparound tailpiece, and nickel hardware. Here at the Zoo we especially like the sound of soapbars with a wrap-around bridge; the wraparound gives a nice, round character to the grit and muscle of P-90s. This guitar is a classic staple of rock and roll simplicity.

Here we have a pre-owned, limited edition Taylor Solidbody Quilted Maple electric guitar in excellent condition. This piece only has slight wear on the edges.
We appreciate the guitar's minimalist aesthetic, with the silver volume/tone knobs, an unobtrusive pickup selector, and a bare ebony fretboard with only a "35" inlay on the 12th fret. This simple elegance leaves space for the quilted maple top which has a gorgeous texture that needs to be seen up close to appreciate. Premium features include tropical mahogany back and sides, a sapele neck, chrome-plated Taylor hardware, and two Taylor Style 1 HD humbuckers. The sound is crystal-clear and articulate, with a very even response in both the neck and bridge positions, a sound that is allowing Taylor to carve out it's own spot in the solidbody electric guitar world.

When Gibson released the Explorer in 1958, its radical design was perhaps a little too ahead-of-its-time, and very few of these units were produced. However there was a huge Explorer revival in the 80's, when wild in-your-face guitarists welcomed its edgy aesthetic. Plus the combination of humbuckers with an all mahogany neck and body lends for pure rock power.
The limited run Gibson Custom Shop '58 Reissue Explorer is an accurate recreation of this futuristic piece of mid-century history. Features include a '59 "V" shape neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and a cool VOS Aspen White finish, which has turned to a yellow hue through the antiquing process. Two Custombucker pickups deliver a heavy sound that can be saturated to create amazing sustain. There are not many of these classic reissues, so check one out before it's too late...

Rock music would not have evolved throughout the 20th century and beyond without inventive aural pioneers like Frank Zappa to blaze a trail. The famed 1973 performance with his band The Mothers at the Roxy theater, documented in the album "Roxy & Elsewhere" and subsiquent DVD, shows a young Zappa taking traditional rock and shooting it off into the stratosphere. If you watch the DVD, you will see his axe is the perfect reflection of the man himself.
The Gibson SG was a rock and roll standard at this point; the traditional cherry finish over a thin mahogany body with two humbuckers delivered a heavy punch, with meaty mids and blistering pick attack when crnked. However, watch the "Roxy & Elsewhere" DVD, and you will hear points where this traditional piece sounds like something otherworldly. If you take a closer look at his axe, you will notice two mini-toggle switches; modificaitons that Zappa worked with Gibson to create, which could split the coils and swap the phasing. The result is a variety of single coil, hum-canceling sounds that would become a Zappa signature.
Since this renouned performance, the iconic SG has gone through some cosmetic alteration, with a mirror guard added across the body after a damaged airline incident. Well recently the folks at Gibson, with the help of Zappa's son Dweezil, were able to deconstruct the piece and unearth the original makeup of the famed instrument. The Gibson Frank Zappa "Roxy" SG is the fruition their research and guitar-archaeology. There are only 400 pieces of this faithful re-issue.
What you get is a tradition early 60's style SG, with a grade-A mahogany body and a solid, quarter sawn mahogany neck, carved to the same slim profile that Frank preffered. The rosewood fingerboard has 22 frets made from wire based on precise measurement of the jumbo frets on the original "Roxy" SG. Two enhanced 57' Classics with four-conductor wiring give an accurate replica of the humbuckers Zappa added to his guitar. And the secret weapon; two mini-toggle switches mounted under the pickguard, give you the same coil-splitting, phase switching capapbilities to easily slip into Zappa "far out" territory.
Tremelo was another huge part of Zappa's sound. The "Roxy" SG comes equipped with a Maestro-style vibrola with decorative Lyre tailpiece and flat bar handle to give the same creative kick to your own playing. Now add in the funky white headstock, and you've come as close as possible to being up on that California stage in 1973!

Here's a killer Suhr Standard in a vibrant Fireburst, built as part of Suhr's ultra exclusive 2013 collection. This guitar's bold vibe is enahnced with a solid Pau Ferro neck, in striking contrast to the angel flame maple top that almost drips off the guitar! The neck is an even "C" slim .800" - .880" profile, with a 10"-14" compound radius, great for speed as well as chords. The Gotoh Floyd trem system keeps everything locked down, and the guitar screams with a JST SSV Humbucker in the neck and a JST SSV+ Humbucker in the bridge. The black metal hardware just adds to this scorcher of an axe, like coals on a fire...

Here we have a Splawn 50-watt tube head that was a new piece here at The Music Zoo. It took a hit in shipping and there was some minor mechanical repair that had to be done to get it back to like-new condition. Just note that the transformer is a little off kilter and the tubes had to be addressed. Because of this we are selling it as a used piece, but you can rest assured that it is in perfect working condition.
The Competition 50 is simple to use and offers three "gear" settings: Hot Rod Plexi, Hot Rod 800, and Super Hot Rod 800. With EL34B tubes, it can go from a nice British clean sound, to a bluesy crunch, to full on saturation. The gears and a solo boost mode are footswitchable. You can also switch to half power making this amp great for studio use.

Here we have a pre-owned Gibson Custom Shop '68 Reissue Les Paul Custom. The finish is "Aged Pelham Blue" which actually has been turned green from the Custom Shop's antiquing treatment. Fender Custom Shop John Cruz Masterbuilt '56 Super Relic Telecaster Electric Guitar White Blonde - Used View

Here we have a pre-owned Fender Custom Shop '56 Super Relic Telecaster in great condition. There is some minor fret wear, but it plays wonderfully. The super chunky worn-in 50's neck has an incredible feel to it, with has a classic twang that can't fully be replicated on most Tele's. This piece, made by guitar builder phenom John Cruz, features a two piece ash body with a custom '52 style "U" shape maple neck, with a 7.25" radius and a .930" thickness that opens up to .950" at the 12th fret. The neck pickup is a '51 Nocaster, and the bridge is an "Abby hand-wound" Telecaster Texas Special. Here we have a very cool pre-owned '83 Charvel San Dimas electric guitar in a unique yellow finish that mixes mustard with hints of gold and metallic overtones. This has some checking on the finish and a decent sized gash on the lower horn area, where there's some paint that's chipped off, however this all gives this pieces pretty cool character. The maple neck plays wonderfully, and we really like the simplistic approach of a single humbucker and volume knob. The pickup is original, however a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge was installed, as well as the nut. This was one of the most common modifications done on guitars like these in the 80's, and it totally fits the style of this piece. Add in the matching yellow headstock, and this guitar is pure 80's!

Here is a very cool vintage ES345TD in a rare walnut finish. From our research we believe it to be from 1970-1972. It is in very good condition considering it's age, and it plays wonderfully. It has buckle rash through the finish in some spots, a gouge on the back of the neck near where it meets the body, some hanger wear under the headstock, and the overall wear you would expect from a 40 years old guitar that's been played thoroughly but well maintained.
The neck is quite a slim, rounded "U" profile. This model was known as a deluxe version of the 335, with a stereo output, which you can plug a Y-cable into, then send to two amps...very cool retro-technology! Also the original Vari-tone switch is still working and wired originally, offering 5 different colorings on each pickup setting. This guitar is a semi-hollowbody with a solid maple block down the center, which reduces feedback, yet keeps the tone nice and open and full. Other features include a triple-bound top, a single-bound back and rosewood fingerboard, a trapeze tailpiece, and a tune-o-matic bridge. This unique piece of history totally takes you back in time!

Here we have a nice '56 Les Paul Jr. The guitar has changed tuning machines. The electronics are all original. The guitar has been buffed out and is quite shiny, but the finish appears correct and there are no breaks or repairs. This one weighs in at 6lbs 14oz and ships in a non-original Gibson hardshell case from the '70s. Great woody tone, awesome intonation and slick player overall!
