Roger Giffin started building his own guitars in the 1970s in England. Since then, he's worked alongside Gene Baker at the Gibson Custom during the '80s, ran his own repair shop in LA in the '90s, and is now in Portland building these very special guitars by hand. Every Giffin is made to the highest standard, with decades of hands-on knowledge infused into the process.

The Giffen Valiant Solid Body is an excellent guitar for someone who wants classic '50s Les Paul feel and tone, while going for something a little "different, yet familiar" when it comes to the looks. This Valiant is built of a flamed maple top on a mahogany body, a mahogany with maple laminant neck, a 24.625" scale length, a '50s neck shape, two Amalfitano Fullbucker pickups, a TonePros AVT wraparound bridge, and Sperzel Solid Pro Tuners. The neck has a slim-but-full feeling of a late 50' electric guitar, and what's nice about the TonePros wraparound bridge is that it has adjustable saddles, which are super helpful in setting up the intonation of the guitar.
