Caparison guitars are made in Japan and have found endorsers among such rockers as Joel Stroetzel of Killswitch Engage and Phil Campbell of Motorhead. The company's Angelus-M3B guitar, which we have here at the Zoo, features a unique three-piece body comprised of a maple center and mahogany sides and a two-piece maple top which, according to Caparison yields more sustain. This composite design results in more weight, and Caparison has reduced the body's depth to 3mm (.12"). The instrument's set neck is maple with an ebony fretboard, the latter featuring a compound radius (12-16"). A 24.75" scale length, along with the mahogany/maple thing, certainly evokes a particular pedigree that can be heard via Caparason's PH humbucker pickups. One might expect lots of mids but that maple yields plenty of brightness, as well. Overall, a great, less-is-more ethos at work here in a great playing and great sounding guitar. This pre-owned Angelus M3B is in overall excellent condition and may have some light scratches or pickmarks, but is in otherwise great shape cosmetically and playing wise!
