Gibson Custom Shop Jimmy Page Reissue 1959 Les Paul Standard, number 9 of the 2-26 hand-signed limited edition Pilot Run guitars.

Currently on display at The Music Zoo.

The Jimmy Page Custom Shop Signature model '59 Les Paul is made in three incarnations: the Pilot Run of 25 Tom Murphy-aged replicas, played. approved, and hand signed and serialized by Jimmy Page in his estate, 150 unsigned Tom Murphy-aged replicas, and an unlimited series of Custom Authentic, un-aged guitars.  This guitar is number 9 of the hand-signed Pilot Run, and is in fact the 8th made available, as Jimmy Page kept number 1 for himself.  This guitar is a light 8.6 lbs.  Currently, #9 is not for sale, but will be on display here at the store.

Gibson has  replicated the shape of the neck on Jimmy's original Les Paul, which is very thin and thinnest in the middle of the neck from end to end.  Every aspect of this guitar is created with the intent to duplicate Jimmy's '59 --from the pickups, to the color, to the push-pull pot.  Gibson even went to the lengths of installing Kluson tuners on the guitar before taking them off and installing the Grovers --so there would be an extra hole and the Kluson imprint.  The guitar shipped with a color photo of Jimmy, a Certificate of Authenticity with another JP hand-signature, and a display case with a violin bow.  Click pictures on the right for high-resolution, detailed pictures of #9.  (Please note that the pictures are very large.)
