Since 1986, Collen has been a proud endorser of Jackson guitars, using them to create some of the most iconic riffs in rock history. His PC1 Dinky was one of the original Jackson signature instruments, and it continues to be a standout piece in the world of music, thanks to its unique blend of exotic woods and a Jackson Sustainer/Driver. Updated in 2017 to meet Collen's evolving tastes and specifications, the USA Signature Phil Collen PC1 Satin Electric Guitar now features a caramelized mahogany body for a rich, warm tone. The bolt-on two-piece quartersawn caramelized flame maple neck is reinforced with graphite and coated with a hand-rubbed urethane gel on the back for a smooth, comfortable grip. The guitar's 12"-16" compound radius caramelized flame maple fingerboard is fitted with 24 jumbo frets for easy playability, and a convenient thumbwheel truss rod butt adjust for quick neck adjustments. The licensed Fender Stratocaster headstock adds a touch of classic rock aesthetics to this modern instrument. The USA Signature Phil Collen PC1 Satin Electric Guitar also features Collen's preferred H/S/S pickup configuration, with a DiMarzio DP-152-F bridge pickup, DiMarzio HS-2 DP116 middle pickup, and a PC1 Sustainer Driver neck pickup. This setup, combined with dome-style master volume, master tone, and intensity control knobs, as well as a five-way blade switch, allows for a wide range of tonal possibilities. The guitar is completed with a Floyd Rose Original tremolo and die-cast tuners, providing excellent tuning stability and the ability to create dramatic pitch effects.
