In Memory of Alexi "Wildchild" Laiho - Children of Bodom

The "Wildchild" of melodic death metal and founder of Children of Bodom passes away at 41.

One of our favorite modern metal guitarists and songwriters, Alexi Laiho – best known for his work in the Finnish melodic death metal band Children of Bodom, has passed away at the age of 41. This is another devasting loss to the guitar community and heavy music scene that once again hits home. From the day we picked up Something Wild on cassette to hosting the band at our showroom in Roslyn in 2012 for a signing, we’ve always had a special connection to the Wildchild – a brilliantly exciting player whose beautiful melodies and insane riffs on his signature ESP will hold a place in our heads forever. Rest in Power, Alexi. You will be missed.
