Brian Fallon Gaslight Anthem

What does it take to earn the respect of a legend like Bruce Springsteen?  Ask Brian Fallon; the frontman, writer, vocalist and guitar player for The Gaslight Anthem, a band that has not only put in their hard time on the road alongside bands like the Bouncing Souls and Rise Against, but have shared the stage with the Boss himself.  The Springsteen comparisons have almost become cliche for Brian, as he is fast becoming a very well respected songsmith and guitarist in his own right.

The guy has great taste in guitars, so we were honored to learn that when asked to choose any location on the East Coast for a photo shoot with Red Bull, he chose The Music Zoo.  Red Bull dove into our deep Gibson inventory and hooked him up with a killer Gibson Custom Shop Orange Sunset Fade Heavily Aged R9 for the shoot.  That’s the guitar pictured above, onstage with Brian at Irving Plaza.   Thanks to the work of The Music Zoo’s John Oliva (pictured below), the shoot and visit were a great success.  John surprised Brian with a cool custom made Heavy Leather NYC strap for his new R9.

So far we’ve helped equip Brian with 3 Les Pauls which he loves.  Here is a pic of him playing one of our Benchmark ’54 Les Pauls:

He’s got one of his own ’54s that he got from us earlier this year.  Here’s a video of him using that guitar at a little venue you might have heard of called… ahem… Wembley Stadium:

The good folks at Redbull hooked us up with some tickets to their Irving Plaza showcase later that week. Thanks to Brad and Danny (TGA crew) for letting us snap this pic of his guitar boat. You’ll see the Aged R9 and an Ebony 58 LP with a walnut colored back. Brian told us that the ’58 he got from us is the guitar he used to record their last album Handwritten.
