Fender Acoustic Custom Shop Guitars? Yes!
We’re really excited to get our hands on Fender’s latest endeavor: real, honest to goodness, handmade Custom Shop acoustic guitars, produced out of a brand new shop in New Hartford, CT. Custom Shop Fender Acoustics! For real! Fender has made acoustic guitars for decades and while they are great for the money, now they’ve stepped up to give the most discerning players a cool acoustic option from their favorite brand. Master luthier Ren Ferguson has been hired to oversee this shop. That’s a very good thing. Ren is widely regarded in the industry as one of our country’s finest individual guitar artisans. The first project we will see coming out of the New Hartford shop will be two very special and limited edition guitars (only 15 each will be made): a Dreadnought featuring a Quilt Maple back and sides (MSRP $5,500), and a Kingman (yes!) with a Flame Maple back and sides (MSRP $5,000). Fender U.S.A. Custom Shop Quilt Maple Dreadnought
In a limited edition run of 15 instruments built with superior tonewoods and meticulous eye for detail, this finely crafted dreadnought features a resonant red spruce top with forward-shifted scalloped X bracing (also of red spruce), solid quilt maple back and sides, elegant abalone rosette and aged body binding, tortoiseshell pickguard, V-shaped eastern curly maple neck with abalone binding and traditional Fender headstock, 20-fret ebony fingerboard with 10 radius and mother-of-pearl/abalone block inlays, ebony bridge with bone saddle and pins, F-inlay tuner buttons, and Fishman® Matrix Infinity onboard electronics. In a limited edition run of 15 instruments built with superior tonewoods and meticulous eye for detail, this finely crafted Kingman dreadnought cutaway raises a classic Fender acoustic model to magnificent heights of sound and style. Features include a richly resonant red spruce top with forward-shifted scalloped X bracing (also of red spruce), solid Eastern Flame Maple Sides, Arched Flame Maple Back, elegant checkerboard rosette and aged body binding, soft C-shaped eastern curly maple neck with Stratocaster® headstock, 20-fret ebony fingerboard with 10 radius and mother-of-pearl/abalone block inlays, ebony bridge with bone saddle and pins, F-inlay tuner buttons, and Fishman® Matrix Infinity onboard electronics.
