The new Gibson 2019 "Back to Basics" model year lineup has just been announced, and The Music Zoo is locked and loaded with inventory! This streamlined model year family represents a return to traditional and simple guitar and bass builds that guitar players have been clamoring for. You'll find new "Studio" runs of many of your favorite electrics and acoustics, as well as certain price points that are lower than last year! But don't fret, there are several high end and unique limited edition models to be found as well.

Who doesn't love a Les Paul Junior? How 'bout a new one for $799? 2019 brings us double-cut versions of these classic slab body guitars, P-90 loaded, and available in Worn Cherry, Worn Blue, Worn Ebony, and Worn Brown.

New ES Models
The popular and classy ES-275 jazzbox is now offered in a thinline version, as the ES-275T. It also boasts a new Cherry Cola finish.
You'll also find a new Blueberry Burst finish available on the ES-335 Figured, Graphite Metallic finish on the ES-335 Dot, and a limited edition ES-355 available in Natural or Graphite Metallic.
Plus, you'll now be able to grab an ES model for only $1399 - the new ES-235, based on a '50s ES-125 with some modern flare.
For the P-90 lovers out there, Gibson is also introducing an ES-335 with P-90 pickups!

The new 2019 Sustainable Series acoustics are out-lined in this post here - wood and earth friendly guitars with tone for days!
Gibson Acoustic's plethora of new 2019 offerings also include new Studio Series instruments - which include the lowest price J-45 we've seen in awhile - the J-45 Studio ($1499). Other models in this lineup include the SJ-200 Studio, Hummingbird Studio, and the L-00 Studio for the parlor guitar lovers.
There's plenty of eye-candy on the other side of the pricing spectrum too! Highly appointed Deluxe versions of the J-45, SJ-200, Hummingbird, and L-00 will be available, as well as a new J-185 Vintage, new Chroma Avant Garde models, and a J-45 Humbucker model boasting you-guessed-it - a neck humbucker.

New Les Paul and SG Builds
For the solid-body traditionalist, Gibson has introduced a new '61 SG Standard model, featuring the half pickguard, a slimmer neck, and the new 61R and 61T Burstbucker humbuckers. The Les Paul Studio will be available in 2 new finishes - BBQ Burst and Tangerine Burst, and Les Paul Standard and Traditional models will be offered in limited finishes - including Transparent Amber (Standard), Transparent Cherry (Traditional), and Manhattan Midnight (Traditional). The Les Paul Classic has also been tweaked again and is loaded with zebra coil 61T and 61R Burstbuckers.
