Marking the first time Fender Custom Shop has built a replica of one of their own instruments, the Limited Edition (only 83 pieces) John Mayer Black1 Stratocaster is upon us. John’s love for Stevie Ray Vaughn’s playing and guitars is well-documented (on his arm, even) and in our eyes this guitar is a testament to the kind of beat up road warrior Strat that SRV would have played. In October 2004, John Mayer visited the Fender Custom Shop and built his own Stratocaster guitar. Used on many of John’s biggest hits, the Fender Custom Shop along with John Mayer, have reproduced his Black1 Stratocaster to every detail. Limited Edition Incase gig bag and hard case included with a personally-signed letter from John and a DVD featuring multiple interviews with John, Rene Martinez, and a photo gallery. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Fender history, as well as musical history.
