NAMM 2016: New Fender American Elite Series Guitars
NAMM2016 Here’s a first look at the Fender American Elite Series, which boasts a combination of innovative features with traditional style. We totally dig the modern “C”-shape at the nut that morphs along the length of the neck to a modern “D”-shaped profile at the updated neck heel, it’s super comfortable! All of the American Elite Series guitars are loaded with the new 4th Generation Noiseless pickups that really catch that vintage Fender sound without the unnecessary noise and the Thinline introduces the new Elite Suspension bridges.
Up first is the Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker: Think tonal variety, with a Shawbucker™(Bridge) pickup and new 4th Generation Noiseless (Neck+Middle) pickups for pristine cleans and gigantic overdriven tones that can be achieved with its Push-Push passing lane switch that bypasses tone controls. This Shawbucker Strat is available in either Rosewood and Maple Fingerboards in a wide range of finishes including a 3-Color Sunburst, Mystic Black, Olympic Pearl, and our favorite: Autumn Blaze Metallic.
Next we have the American Elite Stratocaster, which Fender has labeled the “progressive guitar for 21st Century musicians” thanks to its melding of traditional Fender style with modern sound and features. . Fender stepped it up with this one, offering it in a variety of different options including Rosewood or Maple fingerboard options, and Ash bodies on the Aged Cherry Burst and Tobacco Sunburst finishes! A Left handed version is also available in 3-Color Sunburst!
Onto the 2016 American Elite Telecaster we go! Again, Fenders take on modern sound with vintage style results in a Tele that’s just an absolute pleasure to play and crank! Noiseless pickups, a super comfortable C to D neck, and ergonomic rear contour that hugs the player’s body – what more could you want? The American Elite Tele is also available with Rosewood or Maple fingerboards and also with an Ash body (Maple Fingerboard, Butterscotch Blonde and Rosewood Fingerboard,
Tobacco Sunburst)
Lastly, we have the American Elite Telecaster Thinline, a flexible, easy playing instrument that sounds as beautiful as it looks! The new Elite Suspension Bridge with three intonatable brass saddles is a unique design engineered specifically for the Thinline Tele—a screwless mount increases the vibration transfer, driving the top for nearly endless sustain and lively response. Combine this with the 4th Generation Noiseless pickups, and super comfortable C to D neck, and you’ve got yourself quite the head-turner! This one’s only available with a Maple Fingerboard in Natural, Mystic Ice Blue, and 3-Color Sunburst.
