NAMM 2017: Godin Debuts New Guitars!
NAMM2017 Godin Guitars proved they weren’t twiddling their thumbs all year , showcasing a new line of limited-run guitars. New electrics include the Summit Classic LTD Series with Lollar and Bare Knuckle pickups, the Montreal Premiere Desert Blue, 5th Ave Uptown SilverGold loaded with TV Jones Classic pickups, and a Coral Blue Session Custom T 59.
On the acoustic side, be on the look-out for their completely new Art & Lutherie line, the La Patrie Arena thinline nylon series and the high-gloss Seagull Coastline Momentum. Other highlights are a dulcimer-inspired M4 with B-Band preamp and the S8 mandolin with Seagull proprietary preamp. Check out the line-up of new products below!

SUMMIT CLASSIC LTD & SUPREME LTD
The High-Gloss finishes on these guitars highlight their exquisite AAA Flame Tops with the Summit Classic Supreme LTD sporting a prestigious custom inlay on the Richlite fingerboard. Beneath their generous carved Maple Top is a Mahogany body with 5 hollow chambers strategically placed throughout the guitar’s body. Each is tap-tuned to a different note ensuring rich, musical tones and extremely consistent note-to-note balance. These incredibly lightweight and resonant chambered Custom Shop beauties are a joy to play and come with special Godin hardshell case.
MONTREAL PREMIERE AND 5TH AVENUE LTD’S
Looking for a classic archtop that can do it all ? Look no further – the Godin Montreal Premiere Desert Blue LTD has arrived. With its gorgeous finish and extremely comfortable neck, this guitar is a breeze to play and will be sure to turn heads. The TV jones pickups are the perfect complement to this Limited-run guitar and are capable of supplying authentic tones for jazz, rockabilly, rock, or anything else it could be called upon to play. The Godin Montreal Premiere Desert Blue LTD comes with the Godin archtop TRIC case.
The 5th Ave Uptown Silver Gold’s resonant body comes to life with the vintage twang and growl of a late 50’s and 60’s archtop guitar thanks to the pair of TV Jones Classic pickups controlled via a 3-way toggle switch. Enhance the whole experience with a Bigsby tremolo for dynamic expression and you quickly discover that this beauty is a great choice for rock, blues, rockabilly, country and more. The 5th Avenue Uptown Silver Gold is a Limited Edition guitar and includes the revolutionary Godin archtop TRIC case.
SESSION CUSTOM T 59 CORAL BLUE
New for 2017, the Session Custom T 59 gets an updated look with the addition of a vintage Ashtray bridge and a special Coral Blue High Gloss finish. Like the original Session Custom, this guitar is ready to rock with its Seymour Duncan ’59 Humbucker, and Godin “Cajun Custom” single-coil pickups. Other features include the High-Definition Revoicer, 5-way pickup selector and 5-ply tortoise shell pickguard. The vintage sounding Ashtray bridge is fully adjustable and delivers the sustain and punch that only these bridges can produce. The Session Custom T 59 comes with a Godin gig bag.
MOMENTUM A/E, M4 EQ, S8 MANDOLIN EQ
Seagull Guitars have earned a reputation for uncompromising quality since the creation of the multi-award winning S6 in 1982. That momentum carries forward into 2017 with the aptly named Coastline Momentum. This hand-crafted guitar features an exceptionally thin High-Gloss Custom Polished finish that accentuates the pure natural beauty of the Wild Cherry back and sides all the while allowing the solid Cedar top to vibrate freely. This luxurious yet affordable instrument features a smooth satin hand-finished Silver Leaf Maple neck, Adirondack Spruce bracing, Seagull’s new High Ratio tuners, Fishman Sonitone electronics, Tusq® nut and saddle and Rosewood fingerboard and bridge.
By popular demand and new for 2017, the Seagull S8 mandolin and dulcimer-inspired M4 get an upgrade with the addition of preamps, enabling these fine instruments to be taken right to the stage. The S8 Mandolin Sunburst EQ comes equipped with a Seagull proprietary preamp with volume and tone controls conveniently placed directly on the mandolin’s top! The Seagull M4 is conveniently fitted with a B-Band preamp with onboard tuner for ease of use and practicality.
REVAMPED ART & LUTHERIE LINE
The lineup features three body sizes: Dreadnought – Americana series, Concert Hall – Legacy series, and Parlor – Roadhouse series. All three models are stage-ready, with either the built-in Godin QIT preamp (Americana and Legacy series) or the Fishman Sonitone (Roadhouse series). The Americana and Legacy series are available in Cutaway versions, and the Legacy is also offered in a 12-string or left-handed Cutaway model.
These gorgeous and warm-sounding guitars all feature solid Spruce tops coupled with Wild Cherry back and sides. They are further enhanced by their unique semi-gloss patina finishes – Bourbon Burst, Tennessee Red and Faded Black – that establish the brand’s new look and feel.
LA PATRIE ARENA THINLINE NYLONS
The four models in the series are offered in a choice of three tonewoods: Mahogany, Wild Cherry, or Flame Maple. All benefit from select pressure tested Spruce tops to ensure the highest levels of stiffness and rigidity along with maximum harmonic vibration. Offered with either Godin’s highly-praised Q1T electronics or B-Band Crescent II preamp, this thinline acoustic/electric nylon is a performer’s dream – at home, on stage, or in the studio!
