NAMM 2017 Our friends at Gear Gods have premiered this video of a pre-NAMM sneak peak at some new Strandberg models as described by Ola Strandberg and a special apperance by Plini as well describing his new signature six-string model! Check out the video above, and stay tuned for our own coverage of the Strandberg booth as we arrive at NAMM 2017.
For the new 2017 selection of import OS guitars, they have divvied it up into four lines; the Classic, Original, Fusion, Metal, and Prog.
The Boden Classic model is as “traditional electric guitar” as we’ve ever seen a Strandberg, with a pickguard, solid Sonic Blue/White/Black finish, HSS pickup configuration, fixed Strandberg bridge, and an alder body.
Next is the Boden Original (available in 6/7/8 string configurations.) The Original is built with a swamp ash body/flame maple top and fixed bridge along with a new spec of a roasted maple neck and fretboard. The 7 and 8 string Originals both have Fishman Fluence Modern pickups. A variety of finishes are available on the Boden Original.
The Tremolo lineup of Bodens is now entitled the Prog models, which come in 6 and 7-string incarnations. Basically the same swamp ash and flame top woods as the Original, but with an ebony fretboard. The tremolo for the fanned-fret 7-string Prog is a brand new design for 2017 which is based on a fulcrum point that you can adjust for different heights and tensions of the tremolo action, which can still flutter – but no wiggling or loose tremolo bars swinging around!
Strandberg is offering the new Fusion model with a tremolo bridge, an alder body with a rosewood fretboard, a tremolo bridge and topped off with a Humbucker/Single-Coil/Humbucker pickup configuration – a Fusion players dream, clearly.
We also have a look at the new Plini signature Prog model with an Australian Blackwood top and roasted maple neck with ebony fretboard, tremolo bridge, double Suhr humbucker configuration with a simple 3-way switch and master volume knob.
