Custom Shop Fat '60s Single Coils

Fender Custom Shop Fat ‘60s Strat pickups deliver sweet 1960s single-coil Stratocaster sound with plenty of crisp articulation. The overwound design gives these pickups added low-end punch for an extra shot of modern attitude. Custom Shop Fat ‘60s pickups are outfitted with beveled alnico 2 magnets, which offer warm lows, rich midrange and mellow highs, capturing the sound of aged pickups from the early ‘60s for luscious vintage-inspired tones. The middle pickup is also reverse-wound reverse-polarity (RWRP) for superior hum cancellation.
V-Mod Stratocaster Set

To bring out the musicality and tonal nuances of these pickups, we used the inherent
characteristics of various alnico formulations to create the best blend and balance along
the neck, in any switch position. In the neck pickup, alnico 2 under the bass strings,
combined with alnico 3 magnets under the treble strings provide the richness and clarity
you expect from the neck pickup.
Featuring alnico 2 magnets on the bass side, and alnico 5 on the treble side, the
reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup cancels hum when used in positions 2 or
4. The bridge pickup is powered exclusively by alnico 5 magnets. Each pickup features
the distinctive tone, tempered with vintage-style warmth, and the crisp, clear sound that

Frank included the famous shielding claw that gave vintage Jaguar pickups their zing, but crafted it from different material—nickel-silver—shielding the electronics without altering the sound.
