NAMM 2018: New Taylor Guitars African Ebony Slide
Posted on by Peter Mendola
Winter NAMM 2018 Coverage: Taylor Guitars has added a very cool African Ebony guitar slide to it's product line-up. Soon to be available at The Music Zoo!
Bob Taylor's efforts to create more sustainable ebony sourcing environments have not gone unnoticed, and this slide is a nice tribute, and a unique piece of gear too!
These African Ebony slides are a bit different than your typical glass or metal slides. They are softer, with a natural damping factor and a less shrill high end. They also don't slip as easily, are very lightweight, and are warm and forgiving, so you don't need to be a slide pro to enjoy these! You may need a heavier right hand or more amp gain to get them to really sing the same as a metal/brass/glass slide, but it's a fair trade off!
