New At The Zoo! – Martin Custom Shop 2-45 Brazilian Rosewood Acoustic
Posted on by Walter Bryant
This is one that Martin had been teasing us with progress pictures of for a while, we even saw it on the rack during our last trip to Nazareth, and it’s finally arrived! This is a Martin Custom Shop 2-45 with Brazilian rosewood back and sides. We handpicked this set of Brazilian rosewood during a visit to the shop, and this guitar has come out being nothing short of a masterpiece. We gave the guitar peg tuners (these are geared as opposed to old-style friction) for an authentic early 1900’s Martin appearance. The Size 2 body gives a lot of focus and clarity for fingerpicking, and puts out more volume than you would think as you strum it and get the top vibrating. The bass strings have a lot of punch with piano-like qualities to the sustain, and everything from the snowflake inlays to the abalone purfling, top inlay, and Brazilian headstock overlay make this guitar a true centerpiece of any Martin collection. Have a look at the photos we captured of this brilliant acoustic below!
