Nicholas Harris, founder of Catalinbread Effects Pedals, has reportedly died in a freak-accident last night on March 9th, 2015. Sources say that Nicholas Harris was driving west on an Oregan State highway when a large alder tree fell onto the Toyota SUV he was driving. According to The Oregon State Police in a news release, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Nicholas was a very prominent figure in the guitar pedal community, relentlessly pushing the envelope when it came to pedal-building. We were always left in awe by his pedals when making their debut at the annual NAMM Show. His designs and desire to create new gratifying sounds with his pedal-building made him a recognized contributor to a lot of the guitar gear we’ve come to love over the last couple of years. The entire guitar pedal and effects community mourns over this unfortunate news.

All of us at The Music Zoo are sending our condolences to the family and friends of Nicholas Harris during this difficult time. Nicholas’s innovative spirit and creativity will be missed, but will live on every time we step on a Catalinbread pedal.
