When your professional career in Rock and Roll spans over forty years, you can imagine that one might accumulate a lot of guitars. When it comes to music legend Steve Miller, we mean a lot of guitars. From instruments that Steve had bought on the road, to those that were gifted from other Rock stars, to guitars that were made for charity or other special commemorations – Steve Miller and The Music Zoo are proud to present to you the Steve Miller Collection.
We’ve teamed up with Steve to “thin the herd” as we like to say, and give you the opportunity to own some very special guitars that have lots of vibe and history to them. Steve is a player as much as he is a collector, and you can be sure that these guitars are the cream of the crop when it comes to their playability. Some of these guitars have been touring guitars played by Steve, or made for him by specific builders to his specifications. Everyone one of these guitars includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Steve Miller, and attached is a picture of Steve playing that very guitar at his home studio before they arrived at The Music Zoo.
This is Steves Warren Haynes '58 Les Paul, which was actually signed on the back of the headstock by Warren himself! Featuring a finish known as Haynes Burst, the guitar is modeled after a '58 Les Paul, with a plain maple top on a solid mahogany body, the neck profile of a '58 historic reissue Les Paul, Burstbucker humbuckers, trapezoid inlays, and vintage-style tuners. Warren's signature Les Paul has a few changes of its own, the frets come over the fretboard binding, the knob pointers lay flat against the body, and the guitar has a built in CAE sound-unity gain buffer. When activated, the switch ensures that the tone of the guitar stays consistent when the volume is lowered, as well as making the levels between pickups equal and ensuring that your tone isn't sucked away by going through excess cable and pedals. A very cool feature that is definitely helpful in a live setting.
