The Story

000-18 Sunburst 1934

Feast your eyes on this golden-era pre-war "shaded top" 1934 Martin 000-18. This Auditorium style Martin is one of the greats - and it's played-in condition only speaks to that - it's truly a tonally special Martin. This was the first year for the "new spec" 14 fret 000-18, but still with ebony board and bridge unlike 1935 and beyond examples. An Adirondack spruce and mahogany, 000 short scale guitar with T frets, it's an especially nice and responsive guitar, and has been taken care of structurally. It has had a neck set and new saddle to go along with it - the bridge may have also been reglued at some point. Not a single crack, but plenty of play wear and some pickguard bubbling. The neck finish is worn down to create a nice smooth feel. Good frets too! The guitar comes with a letter from Matt Umanov Guitars in the non-original hardshell case which states the guitar was originally shipped to C.J. Magin Music House in Belleville, Illinois on November 11th, 1935...how cool is that?

Includes: Non-Original Hardshell Case, Paperwork
