For those who have been hunting down vintage Charvel and Jackson guitars for years, you've likely known of this guitars existence and story already. This is a 1983 Jackson guitar which was built for the guitarist Mark St. John who spent time as the lead guitarist in KISS in the mid '80s, playing on their Animalize record. This guitar has been documented over the years, being pictured in an issue of Guitar Player magazine with Mark (a copy is included with the guitar) as well as Documented and pictured in "The Ultimate Guitar" book by Tony Bacon. There's a slew of documentation included in the case with the guitar including an autographed photo of KISS signed to Grover Jackson, correspondence from the previous owner about the guitars history, and a copy of the original order form for the guitar from Mark to Jackson.
The guitar currently is in overall good cosmetic shape with light wear around the body. There's two mini-toggles, the upper switch acts as a killswitch and the second one switches between two different resistor values. The fretboard has medium to heavy playwear throughout, the truss rod is completely slack and the neck remains slightly overstraight in a back bow. The fretboard is due for a level and refret, and is being sold for the next owner to address it. It's certainly a collectible piece of Jackson/Charvel history, and it's very cool to have it in our hands to see in person!
Includes: Hardshell Case (one working latch), Signed KISS Photograph addressed to Grover Jackson,
