It’s not a stretch to say that the electric guitar often takes cues from the world of automobiles. Fast cars, fast riffs, what’s not to love? This is a new line from the Wild Customs company, simply called Automotive by Wild Customs: these are guitars that really take guitar design to the next level with inspiration from classic and iconic cars. This one on hand is the “Bullitt” guitar, designed after the ’68 Mustang GT 390 Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the film of the same name. It’s built of an alder body with maple top, finished in the same Highland Green as the original car. The guitar has a customized volume/accelerator pedal included with it, since it has no body mounted controls – there is an ignition switch key barrel to really keep the car motif going, with a single EMG 85 pickup and a really cool air intake cover which is held over the bridge via internal magnets.
