'Bar El Gato' MusTwang Item Description

This is an exciting new guitar from El Cabron - the company founded by Mike Eldred - a legend in the guitar industry and a longtime friend of The Music Zoo. Mike was the very first employee of Grover Jackson who went on to have his hands on some of the most famous Jackson guitars of all-time, going on to run the Fender Custom Shop for many years - leading many incredible projects and new guitar innovations!

This is the MusTwang model with a hand-painted finish dubbed the "Bar El Gato". The story behind the graphics on this one is that it's a tribute to Eldred's time racing in the Baja 1000 and nursing defeat in a nearby bar known as El Bar Gato. The looks on this one are fantastic, everything is tied together very well. The guitar has a classic offset body shape yet with a full 25.5" scale length. The neck is a quartersawn piece of hard rock maple with a soft "V" profile and an oiled finish - just like the original 80s hot rod guitar necks Mike perfected in the '80s. The pickup on this guitar is quite special as well; a collaboration between Mike Eldred and his old friend and employer Grover Jackson. Dubbed the 'Black Special' - this pickup features a double screw configuration and an Alnico II magnet with 7.9k of output.
