This is a 1959 Fender Precision Bass, with a black refinish over the alder body. The bass has a pencil date of 2-59 in the neck pocket, with the original frets, original tuners, and original pickup all there to give you the vintage feel you’re looking for. The refinish doesn’t look like it was too recently done, so the body has its share of wear to it to match the worn-in neck. The frets have been worn down, and there is a back curl to the headstock. The headstock also has a large area of wood that was chipped away around the G string tuning post. The truss rod still adjusts, however! There’s a replaced volume pot, with the original tone pot and capacitor still intact. There is a replacement metal pickguard installed, with some newer screws used around the body. It includes a reissue hardshell tweed case. It’s a player-grade vintage bass that still plays well and looks like it has a cool story or two to tell!
