A Music Zoo x Gibson Custom Shop classic is back! This is a 1957 Les Paul Roasted Reissue with a torrefied maple top. Torrefied wood, also known as "roasted" wood is a process of removing excess moisture from the wood, in this case flame maple - to increase resonance and stability throughout weather changes, a healthy decrease in physical weight and a tone that's more akin to a guitar that has aged over years to have characteristics more like our favorite vintage guitars.
This '57 is unique as we used the torrified maple for its tonal properties although it's been colored over by the classic Goldtop finish. This R7 has the Carmelita neck profile - which is a slightly thinner '59 shape for those who like guitars with slimmer shoulders that are great for lead styles!We kept the aniline cherry stain so that you can see all of the beautiful grain of the mahogany body and neck!
