This Gibson Custom Shop Collectors Choice #3 1960 Les Paul "The Babe" is super clean and is a unique Custom Shop piece! The original Babe, owned by Joe Bonamassa, is an example of the transitional period between 1959 and 1960, and was also one of few verified Les Pauls from that era that was factory-ordered with a Bigsby. The Custom Shop has recreated what little wear the guitar had - a few bumps and bruises along the back of the body. The neck shape on this instrument was precisely recreated and is more akin to the slight "V" we know '59 Les Pauls for, as opposed to the slim profile of the 1960. The guitar has the same uniquely shaped aluminum base underneath the ABR-1 bridge, and is loaded with Custom Bucker Alnico III pickups that pump out that late '50s PAF tone. This guitar is in excellent overall condition and includes the original case and certificate of authenticity!
