The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band was at the forefront of the Country Rock and Americana explosion of the late '60s and early '70s. Guitarist Jeff Hanna led the way with his amazing 1960 Les Paul Standard, reproduced here in exacting detail in Gibson's latest Collector's Choice model.
The double carved Maple top is mated to the hand selected Mahogany back with hide glue for a tone and sustain that has to be heard to be believed. The Mahogany neck is topped with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard that features hand-rolled binding to get this guitar as close to original specifications as possible. All the small details from the Top Hat control knobs, to the authentically shaded plastics, to the classic Les Paul peghead veneer have been carefully recreated. The aging on the Brown Lemon Sunburst finish, as well as the Mahogany body and neck precicesly matches the look and feel of Hanna's original. The dual Custom Buckers provide all of the sweet yet gritty humbucker tone that will cut through in any situation.
