Ever since 1958, when Gibson introduced the first semi-hollowbody electric guitar, the timeless ES-335, the company’s engineers have been fine-tuning the concept of combining the classic look of a hollowbody with the performance of a solidbody. The CS-356 achieves that goal. It features a single piece Mahogany body that tonally carves the back, rims and center block from one piece of wood. Added to that are the Quilted Maple top and Richlite fretboard to give the guitar a classy look with plenty of functionality.
