Kirk Hammett Greeny Les Paul Greeny Burst Item Description

Talk about a legacy through one guitar! This is the Gibson USA Kirk Hammett Greeny Les Paul; a recreation of the 1959 Les Paul with the serial number 9 2208 that's been played by Peter Green, Gary Moore and Kirk Hammett and affectionately known all over the world simply as "Greeny". The Greeny is known for its unique tone in the middle position with its nasal, out of phase sound. The result of Peter Green experimenting with different sounds, he had taken the neck pickup out and when it was replaced - accidentally put it in backwards with the magnets reversed. The result is that magical "cocked wah" type of sound that we've all been chasing ever since. The Greenybuckers in this Les Paul nail that tone, and all the rest of the specs are there too: the unique light faded Burst finish, mismatched top hat and reflector knobs, and a comfortable rounded '50s neck profile. Even if you have multiple Les Pauls in your collection already - trust us that you don't have one that sounds like Greeny.
