The Story

L-4 Archtop Sunburst 1949

Here is a vintage 1949 Gibson L-4 archtop guitar with a sunburst finish. This L-4 is a player that's still going over 60 years later! The serial number in the bass side F-hole has been worn down, but we were able to use the Factory Order Number in the treble side F-hole to date the guitar right to 1949. The guitar has a spruce top with maple back and sides. The headstock has been professionally repaired, with a refinished and aged neck. The work looks super sturdy, and blends in with the finish wear. There is a replacement tailpiece, tuners, and bridge thumbwheels. The guitar at one point had an output jack which has since been plugged (on the underside of the body near the strap pin, and the pickguard is not included. The bodys finish is original, and looks great with its authentic players wear. This L-4 comes with a '60s Epiphone Texan case, the fit is snug but fits and protects the guitar as it should!

Includes: 1960s Epiphone Texan Hardshell Case
