This Gibson LG-2 from the late '40s is as sweet sounding as they come! An intimate, harmonically rich acoustic guitar, with a ton of vibe and a great "opened-up" tone as well as excellent playability. This 24.75" scale length example boasts solid spruce and mahogany construction, with a nicely aged warm sunburst finish, a mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge, and a couple replacement parts, including newer aged tuners and newer strap buttons. The original are included in the case.
This guitar in is good shape for it's age - it does have normal finish checking, some finish wear around the sound hold, and some general wear consistent with age. There are a few small top cracks that have been professionally repaired and cleated, and the guitar boasts excellent play-ability with good angles. Notes just jump off the fingerboard of this one - is a great example of an earlier post-war LG-2! Comes with the original hardshell case and a newer Martin case.
