First introduced in 1937, the Gibson SJ-200 has set a precedent for acoustics that others still strive to match. This well-built design still stands at the top of its class today, with an impressive, booming projection that offers impressive volume but doesn't skimp on shimmering acoustic tone. Built with a maple back and sides as well as neck, the SJ-200 bears the marks of a classic. Used by everyone from the late-great Gram Parsons who churned out his own custom-brand of "Cosmic Country Music" right on down to the hard-hitting Rock and Roll of Pete Townshend, the SJ-200's list of diverse players exemplifies why it's still one of the most popular acoustic guitars to date.
