This is the Hilbish Design Beta amplifier, based off of the legendary Sunn Beta amplifiers of the 1970s with modern tweaks and dependability added in tenfold. The Hilbish Beta is designed and built by engineer Nathan Hilbish in Lynchburg, Virginia. This 3-rack space solid-state head has 700 watts of class D power, two channels that can be used separately or in parallel with an included footswitch, active 3-band equalizer, and each channel has its own effects loop along with a master effects loop allowing you to really tweak and tailor your switching options to your liking. The Beta can go from crystal cleans to a monstrous crunch that borders the heaviest fuzz tones you’ve ever heard, and is used by the likes of King Buzzo of the Melvins when the band hits the road hard for months at a time. This Beta includes a protective head shell with a black tolex finish, and a Music Zoo exclusive brass finish to the faceplate that we designed with Nathan to replicate some of our favorite plexi-style amps of the ‘70s aesthetically. The sound is of course, all its own!
