If you're looking for that hollow bell-like tone of a Hofner Violin Bass, there simply isn't a substitute. This is a vintage H500/1 built in 1965 with the classic Violin Burst finish. The bass is a player and has been heavily used through its years. Structurally the bass feels great. What's changed is that the pickguard isn't included, there have been fret markers put on the neck binding in red marker (or very light paint), a hole has been drilled on the top side of the neck for what was likely a strap button. There's heavy checking throughout the instrument, and the bridge volume pot is currently frozen and will need to be replaced. We're selling this vintage Hofner as-is and with a little love - it's ready for even more years of music making!
