Magnatone amps are legendary, renowned for being the amp of choice for Buddy Holly and supplying the lush, pitch-shifting stereo vibrato guitar effect heard on many of his recordings. Magnatone's haven't been made since 1969 but they're back now and The Music Zoo is proud to be a dealer.
The Stereo Twilighter is an updated, 21st Century version of the classic Magnatone 280 that Holly used on stage and recordings. Based on two output stages (22 watts each) operating in Class AB, the amp uses four 6V6 output tubes with a tube rectifier (GZ34), along with five 12AX7s and two 12AU7s, Stereo Twilighter offers a host of sounds with its stereo vibrato and tremelo feature--the legendary feature associated with vintage Magnatone amps. Used in association with the amp's spring reverb, you've got a truly mesmerizing, 3D type effect, or what Magnatone calls "True Dimensional Sound." It's subtle overdrive can be summoned as you increase volume, or put a great overdrive pedal in front and you'll be lost in some amazing tone!
